On Sunday, September 18, 13 Rotarians and friends joined other community groups to help Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver process a huge donation of merchandise that will be sold in the 5 Habitat for Humanity ReStores in the Denver area.  The merchandise was donated by vendors who had exhibited at a large True Value Hardware trade show at the Colorado Convention Center.
Following the trade show, many of these vendors donated the merchandise in their exhibits to Habitat for Humanity, rather than having to ship it to another location.  Our volunteer crew assisted with boxing, palletizing, and shrink wrapping a wide assortment of goods so they could be loaded onto trucks and transported to the Habitat ReStores.
Habitat for Humanity reported that the entire donation amounted to 34 semi-trailers of merchandise.  Once these products are sold in the ReStores the proceeds will help fund the Habitat for Humanity home building program in the Denver area.  Donations like this help keep the cost of Habitat for Humanity homes low, enabling hard-working individuals to partner with Habitat to purchase decent, affordable housing for their family.
