Arty’s Friday Food Bag Program continues to make great strides in ensuring needy students at Centennial Academy are provided with food as they leave school on Friday for the weekend. Recently, student volunteers from our Rotary Sponsored Interact Club at Heritage High School held a food collection drive on two Sunday afternoons the King Soopers located at S. Broadway and W. Mineral Ave.

Somewhere close to 500 lbs. of food non-perishable food items were donated by shoppers who purchased needed items. Lists of items needed by the food bank were handed to shoppers interested in helping out and the response was terrific. Thanks to the initiative of the Interact Club students, the items collected will help ensure sufficient food to supplement the Centennial Academy student’s dinners over the weekends through the end of the current school year. Way to go, Heritage Interact Club!
