Rotary Weekly Update

Thank you to everyone who pitched in for a very full Rotary week last week! Whether you helped with the Four-Way Test speech contest, welcomed guests to the membership event, timed events or served concessions at the track meet, or made the trek to Ardmore for the district training, thank you for making a difference in our community and our district!
As many of you may know, Purcell Rotarian Greg Wheat suffered a massive heart attack while skiing in Utah last week. Greg was transported to a hospital in Utah where he spent several days in ICU. He is expected to recover, but please keep him and his family in your prayers.
Our speaker this week will be Rebekah Lynam, branch manager of the Purcell Public Library. Rebekah will highlight library programs and services that are designed to help customers improve their lives, from building resumes and searching for jobs to learning English and studying for the US citizenship test.
Upcoming events:
  • District Four-Way Test Speech Contest: April 19
  • Quarterly service project: April 30
  • District conference: May 3-4
  • Non-Rotarian of the Year award: June 5

Membership goal progress:
  • District: Started at 1019; currently at 1036
  • Club: Started at 43; currently at 43
