The 8-29-13 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha featured Tobi Neidy, co-editor at OUINSIDER.COM, as guest speaker.

The Aug. 29 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha opened with a prayer, pledge and song.
The song was a rap version of the 4-Way test featuring "Pit Bull" Mitch Willams.
No on admitted to being a guest.
The Sunshine report included a Joy -- Julius Haralson was back after recuperating from knee surgery. He plans to have the other knee done later this year, probably around Christmas.
President Greg Elliott said Glenda Thomas will be at the Sept. 5 meeting to talk about the Rotary Foundation. She's District 5770 foundation chairman.
Rotarian of the Day was Ron Sanders. He introduced Tobi Neidy of OUINSIDER.COM as our guest speaker.
Tobi played softball at Chickasha High School, worked with her dad at Liberty Drug and graduated from OU, where she was sports editor at the OU daily. She continues to live in Norman and covers OU athletics as a writer and co-editor of OUINSIDER.COM.
Tobi, who has become known as the "Chick in the pressroom," spoke about some of the obstacles of being a female sports writer.
"Radio's Jim Traber once asked me to get him some cookies, thinking I was a press box aide," she told Rotarians.
As for this year's Sooners, Tobi said she was really excited to see what Trevor Knight can do."
"He has more mobility and agility than Landry Jones," she said. "He'll have an experienced line to protect him."
Defensive, remains a question mark but big Quincy Russell should make an immediate impact as a JUCO transfer. "He is huge."
She said press access to practice and to players is very limited, so it makes it tough to really assess how the team is going in pre-season workouts.
Her advice to other women who want to break into sports writing is "stand their ground." She likes tutoring younger journalists on how to get interviews.
The meeting ended after a more reverent and non-rap recitation of the Rotary 4-Way Test.
