IDA JEAN CHAMBERLAIN Funeral services for Ida Jean Chamberlain, 75, of Chickasha will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, in Epworth United Methodist Church, Family Life Center, with Dr. Rockford Johnson officiating. Ida Jean Chamberlain was born on November 11, 1935, in Selma, North Carolina to John and Molly Pittman Creech. She died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, in Chickasha. Jean moved to Baltimore, Maryland as a young child and spent her early years there. She moved to Corpus Christi, Texas for her senior year of high school where she graduated and later studied business at Del Mar Junior College. She married Edward Chamberlain on December 21, 1957, in Corpus Christi, Texas. The couple enjoyed more than fifty-three years together and built a loving, Christian home for their family. In 1972, the Chamberlains moved to Chickasha, where Jean was employed for many years as a secretary at the Chickasha Junior High School. She retired in 1999. Jean was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha, where she was active in the United Methodist Women's Callie Salter Circle, and a member of PEO. She was also an avid reader who enjoyed spending her time with her books and her beloved family. She was preceded in death by both parents. Survivors include her husband, Edward Chamberlain of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Amy Chamberlain of Ninnekah, and Charles and Melanie Chamberlain of Marlow, one brother-in-law, Robert Chamberlain of Kansas City, Missouri, and four grandchildren, Ethan Chamberlain, Parker and Lexi Chamberlain, Brittany Chamberlain and Blake Chamberlain. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
