President Brad introduced the program:  the Safe Room with Dale Thompson with Emergency Management.  A wonderful man for he is a graduate of OSU.  His office has grown over the years.  County Emergency Management. They deal with resource and logistic experts.  They help you create a plan for emergency situations.  If you have a safe room or storm shelter you should have a kit ready to go.  In there should be important papers like marriage licenses and such.  Also to have provisions, cash, medications, insurance information etc....

He suggest Midland NORAD Weather Radio or to have the NORAD radio app on your phone.  That way if there is power failure you will still have access to the emergency information. He sees it as important as a smoke detector.  Hyper Reach is being created so they can contact the residence of the county when there is a situation that you need to be made aware of.  I pause program will allow the cell phone towers to send the alerts out.  That way if anyone will be traveling through that area and pin that tower then they will get the local alert.

There is a safe room program 1999 tornado created the pilot program for the safe room.  That pilot program was successful and the program continues to this day.  Many shelters have been granted.  $127,000 was spent on 75 shelters last year. An applicant would received 75% of the cost up to $2,000.00.

Currently there is a fund raising project for Rescue Boat going on.  The dive team needs a better quality boat than the current raft type of boat.  $30,000 dollars is needed to purchase the boat.  Monday there will be a special account at the Grady County Court house.  If you would like to make a donation it would be appreciated.
