Rotarian of the Day was Chris Mosley who presented an inspirational program about the Make A Wish program.
Chris Mosley was the Rotarian of the Day for the Feb. 24, 2001 meeting and presented the program about the Make A Wish program and the trip it allowed his son and the family to make at not cost. Cooper Mosley, who has been diagnosed two times with cancer, but has been in remission since last April was granted a wish to see how some of his favorite video games. Cooper and his mom and dad spent a week in LA seeing the sights paid for by the Make A Wish Foundation, but the highlight was visits to the studios to see how video games were made. Chris said Make A Wish has granted wishes to about 1800 Oklahoma kids with 112 pending. He said the average wish costs about $7,000, paid for entirely by donations. He encouraged Chickasha residents to try to raise money. He said Edmond's three high Schools raised more than $800,000 last year for Make A Wish. Guests included Phillip Wynn, introduced by Rotarian Conrad Duprez. Visiting Rotarian was Harry Meister of the Bricktown Club. President Mark read a thank you note from the CMS Academic Team, which said they were able to compete at two events with the funding help from Rotary. Prayer concerns were expressed for the family of Dr. David C. Hall Sr., who died Wednesday night. His service is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Chickasha. Interment will be Saturday afternoon at Sunnylane Cemetery in Oklahoma City. The meeting was adjourned after the recitation of the Rotary 4-Way Test.
