Pat Cunningham, director of the Grady County Historical Society Museum, was guest speaker at the 11-1-2012 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha.

The Nov. 1, 2012 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha opened with a prayer, pledge and song.

Guests included Jennifer Kaufman, Jennifer Cass, Amanda Mullin and Troy Duncan.

Jennifer Kaufman and Jennifer Cass spoke briefly to thank the Rotary Club for its $4,700 donation to the DHS foster kid program. The money was used for clothing, medical, office expenses and Christmas gifts for the kids.

Amy Sutton, associate pastor at First Christian Church, was inducted as the newest member of the Rotary Club of Chickasha. After being sworn in by President Cody White, Amy received her Rotary Pin from her club sponsor, Michael Oberlender.

Amy is from Dallas and attended undergraduate and graduate school at Baylor University.

President Cody announced that the club has been awarded a grant to give to the Chickasha Emergency Food Pantry.

The museum is housed in the Dixie Building, circa 1919, in downtown Chickasha. It has an "awesome collection" of treasure that give a glimpse into Chickasha's past.

She showed several photos from the museum collection, including the Savoy Hotel, the Washita Theatre and other sense from downtown Chickasha.

She invited Rotarians to attend the Nov. 5 annual meeting and dinner of the Historical Society membership.

The meeting adjourned after recitation of the Rotary 4-Way Test.
