Gary Wilson is a Professor of Anthropology & Political Science at UNBC.  Gary took a few minutes to explain their upcoming "Field School" where 11 students will be traveling to The Isle of Man for a 3 week period in May 2011.

During this field trip, these students will explore cultural change, the place of heritage and the politics of identity in Ireland and the Isle of Man, two of the most dynamic and intriguing parts of Celtic Europe.  During the trip the students will be required to prepare studies and reports on their experience.

Gary indicated various reasons for the trip, including; career aspirations, travel experience, learning outside of the classroom and personal interest.

The trip is budgeted to cost each student approximately $6,000 dollars.  The students are looking at a variety of fund raising opportunities to help with the expenses.  They are open to ideas and eager to work with groups such as Rotary to help raise the funds.
