Frank Carroll spoke passionately about Worcester, and the "Night of Stars - Celebrity Gala"

Frank Carroll

Frank Carroll entertained the Worcester Rotary Club with stories about the Rotary Club helping to establish a hospital in Vietnam in the late 1960's.

Frank also told some tales about recruiting celebrities for the "A Night of Stars" Celebrity Gala to Benefit the St. John's Food for the Poor on Temple St.

Truly, this is a once in a lifetime event for Worcester,  and he encouraged everyone to attend on October 15th at the Hanover Theater.

Future Announcements -

Membership meeting after the regular Club meeting next week on the Sept.15th.

General Club Assembly meeting on Sept 29th (No speaker - we will finalize plans to celebrate the 100 year anniversary)

Val Callahan also sent along this email update about Hilda.  Thanks for Val for opening her home and heart!  Please keep Hilda in your prayers.

Hi All~
Today I heard Hilda laugh for the first time.  She danced and played hide & seek.  It is amazing to see this progress since her open
heart surgery on September 1st.  My neighbor Charlie brought two excellent  bottles of wine to toast Hilda and the new baby, Josue. Susan Black
brought an entire
dinner plus a children's book about Worcester.  What could be better?  The miracle of healing, good wine and good friends!
Thank you to everyone.
God bless you.

Hi All~
Hilda woke up all bright eyed and adorable.  After having breakfast, playing and eating lunch , she went  down for a nap.  She just fell asleep after a good cry.  To me it seems like she should have more than Tylenol for pain, but that is what BCH wants us to give her, plus one baby aspirin per day.  She continues to gain more strength and personality daily.  When her mother asked her about her health on the phone last night, she responded, "OKAY!"  This brought laughter here and in the Dominican Republic!
Right now, Cheryl Rosen is taking Jose to a Dominican grocery store and later to Western Union.   Jose is having relatives here wire him money to wire back home. It's complicated and his eyes well up with tears about the situation.  I am getting a translator tonight to translate the issues so we can better understand what is is that is eating away at him on a daily basis.
Tonight Sharon from my church healing team will visit here to share supper and to lead us in prayer  for Hilda.
Please continue your prayers for little Hilda and her father Jose.
Warm regards,
Val
