Message From The President

Greetings Fellow Worcester Rotarians:
I'd like to introduce myself as your new president, and let you know of the plans for next year. As I mentioned at the installation, my great grandfather, Curtis Blanchard, was an original member, but it was less than 100 years ago, because the club will celebrate 100 years on March 12, 2012.
Each month at our regular weekly meetings I hope to feature a business speaker, a service speaker, a rotary related speaker (RYLA, Rotaract, etc.) and lastly tryouts for the annual comedy contest running up to the contest in 2011. The winners of the tryouts will be featured on our web site and in the publicity.
To bring in new members, I am proposing that every present member make an effort to invite a guest at least once each season. If each member brings in a new member, we could reach 100 members for our centenary.
Val Callahan is leading a crusade to have every member become a Paul Harris Fellow, and there are substantial matching gifts as an enticement.
I encourage members to offer suggestions on any topic, and look forward to getting Rotarians old and new involved in these exciting times.
