MEETING OPENING:

Meeting opening: Bell was rung at 6:15 pm
God Bless America was sung
Guests: Lynn Faust from Marlboro Rotary, Doug Leard, Fiona Morris, Amanda Mosher

Note from the President:

Hello Fellow Rotarians,

We had a great meeting last week with Lynn Faust who worked with us on developing ideas for club community service projects. This week Becky Callaway, the volunteer coordinator from the Salvation Army will be our guest speaker. We will continue developing ideas for community service projects following her presentation.

We need a count for the club so we have the right number of seats and tables.

Please reply if you will not be able to attend.

On Thursday there will be a training at the Weston High School on food preparation and kitchen usage. Please reply to Rob Mosher (Robertmosher66@gmail.com)  if you can attend. The training is at 2:30. You will need to sign in at the main office before proceeding to the kitchen.

On Saturday we have an opportunity to do a "Pink Pinky Day" in Weston Center in front of Bruggers form 10-1. This was discussed at the last meeting and anyone available should contact me directly at wwrcpresident2017@gmail.com. An article will be appearing in the Crier on World Polio Day along with a link to the webinar and a link for making a donation.

Lastly, we have two great award recipients for 10/26 so please plan on attending this meeting to help us celebrate. I spoke to one recipient parent and he said his father was a Rotarian and he didn't even know we had a club in town. We have a lot of work to do and it starts with sharing and inviting people to come do things with us.

See everyone Thursday.

Mark Messina
WWRC President

Meeting Notes:

Our speaker, Lynn Faust from the Marlboro Rotary Club gave an important talk about service projects and to remind us that giving service is not a fundraiser.

We would like to also welcome Fabush Tarck who hails from far away Winchester and just wanted to look us over and see what the Rotary is all about. She certainly has a great smile and a great personality. Hope she joins us.

John Marchiony reminded us that on the 26th, our meeting will be at the lodge and we will celebrate our new high school scholarship winners.

Michael Dexter-Smith is travelling back to Hawaii for his son's wedding and Bruce Lee is off to Pennsylvania to see his son's new home. Happy and safe travelling to them both.

One the 19th we expect a speaker from the Salvation Army named Becky. Please try to attend.

Secretary Eileen White
