Note from the President:

Hello All,

First a quick recap of last weeks Board of Directors meeting. We continued to discuss budget items for this year. The projected budget will be presented to the club on November 2. Please plan on attending this meeting so that all voices can be heard.

Following our club meeting several of the members of the BOD participated in the discussion with Karen regarding the web site revision. This was not a BOD meeting and John Marchiony has been documenting the conversations and suggestions for any interested in participating.

This week is the big RYLA celebration award event! Jan has asked for confirmation of attendance so that we have the proper seating and meal service. A lot of planning has gone into this evening and we really need hard confirmation who will be in attendance. Please email or call Jan today so we can have an accurate count.

In addition to our celebration on Thursday,  Tuesday is World Polio Day. While we did not get an activity off the ground for this I would like to suggest that we take a vote Thursday evening to allocate the collected "Happy Dollars" to the End Polio Now campaign. This will bring awareness among our guests and enable us to get a 2:1 match from the Gates Foundation.

The agenda for the evening will be as follows:

5:45 welcome team arrives to set up and take posts
6:00 doors open
6:15 Bell rings and President will welcome everyone and talk about a few Rotary traditions.
-Ringing the bell to start and to end the meeting at 7:30
-Singing: My Country tis of thee
-Blessing by Tom Wintle
-Four way test
-Door Prize drawing
-Happy Dollars
6:35 President introduces guests and John Marchiony who will be master of ceremonies
6:40 John recaps the program and begins the award celebration
7:30 bell rings and pictures are taken for the Crier

See everyone Thursday.

Mark Messina
WWRC President

A  Note from Jan Luchetti

Dear Rotarians,

I want to "Thank You" for responding to my past requests for attendance at our Rotary Dinner Meetings!

The Weston Golf Club is requesting final counts for attendance for the Celebration Dinner for our R-RYLA Recipients by Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.!!

This is a special evening and we could be looking at over 40 people attending the dinner so it is important that I hear from all of you as soon as possible.

They will not be able to accommodate last minute menu changes or walk-ins on this evening so we need to be accurate with our RSVP’s on attendance.

If you could reply to me by Tuesday morning, I would appreciate it.

I only need to hear from you if you are attending.  If there is no response, I will assume you are NOT attending :)

Thank you again,

Jan

Meeting Notes:

Very nice showing of Rotarians this evening.

Our guest, Becky Callow from the Salvation Army, gave us the history of how this organization was started.

Welcome back to Frabrich Tarch who hails from Winchester.

John Marchiony introduced us to Karen Ancas who will be giving an update on some of our electronics at the board meeting.

Mark Messina reminded us that October 24th is World Polio Day, a very important date to honor.

Next week will be the RYLA awards dinner dedicated to senior high school students who have received a Service Above Self nomination between October and November.

Our returning guests, The Hon. Rev. Dr. Hamlet Kabushenga and his wife, Dorothy,  joined us for dinner and to remind us the African community in Uganda are still trying to raise $20,000 for electricity and health care.
