Weston’s Interact Club holding 5K to benefit shelter

Weston High School’s Interact Club will host its first annual 5K Mother’s Day Weekend Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, May 11 at 9 a.m. at Weston High School. This fun, family event will include a 5K Fun Run/Walk starting at the Weston High School track and following the cross country course over and around the high school and middle school campus.

Fun events will include face painting, sack races and games for younger participants. In addition, there will be food available at the concession stand at the high school track.

Robert Mosher, a junior at Weston High School and co-president of the Interact Club, said, “We chose to do a Fun Run/Walk because, after a long winter, we thought that people would want to get out and enjoy the warmer spring weather and get some exercise. I joined the cross country team last fall and had so much fun running, it was a natural choice. I heard about high school cross country runners in Stow creating a Thanksgiving Day fun run and thought we could do something similar.”
