Rotary Club of Needham
Tuesday: July 24, 2012
Location: Tippett Home, Needham, MA

The Club held a joint meeting with the Westwood Rotary at the Tippett Home, a VNA Care Network Hospice located at 920 South Street to tour the newly renovated premises and grounds.

We were provided a tour by Susan Young, Director of Development followed by lunch.

The Tippett Home opened in 1994 to care for terminally ill individuals who want hospice care but are unable to continue living in their own homes.  It offers a warm, supportive environment with all of the related amenities and comforts of home.

Several local Rotary Clubs, including Westwood and Needham donated $10,000 to help furnish two of the first floor common rooms.  The Campaign for the Tippett Home is about 70% towards their goal of raising $2 million for the complete renovation and patient care fund.

Many of you will recall that our club assisted in the conversion of The Tippet House from a private residence back in the early 1980s, when Ron Sockol led the effort. In addition, Past President Merna Stanley was a resident in her final weeks.
