The Rotary Club of Littleton establishes the Littleton Community Corps

The Rotary Club of Littleton is excited to announce the formation of a new community-based venture, the Rotary Community Corps, to augment and enrich an already vibrant volunteer spirit we enjoy in our town.

Rotary Community Corps is a group of non-Rotarians who share our Rotary Club’s commitment to community service. RCC members plan and carry out projects in their communities and support local Rotary club projects as well as provide services to those in need. Our motto of “Service Above Self” is channeled through the RCC.

An RCC is a vehicle with which we can systematically organize like-minded people possessing varied skill sets in town dedicated to improving the human condition.

An RCC enables members to:

  • find community solutions to community challenges by giving residents the power to take responsibility for improving their village, neighborhood, or city;

  • give a project sustainability and longevity by involving residents in every aspect of planning, operation, and monitoring;

  • and, develop leaders by mentoring community residents and having them lead projects.

Importantly, an RCC has a vested interest in its own success. Members live in the community and as such must live with the results of their work.  RCC members’ commitment is the basis for community-wide sustainability.

Please share this message with friends and family in town.  It is by expanding the volunteer base in our town that together we succeed in placing service above self.
