PJ Avella presented the club's proposal for a Gazebo on the Common in memory of Don Sturtz to the Board of Selectmen on Monday, Sept. 25. The presentation was well received and the BOS asked PJ to work with selectmen Cindy Napoli and Joe Knox to ensure that all proposals related to the Common were considered together before they gave final approval to the project. PJ, Cindy and Joe will report back to the BOS after completing their discussions.
Don was well known locally for his charitable works and was a past-President of the club.

Construction of the gazebo will be determined with the Sturtz family and it will be ADA accessible. Ongoing maintenance for the gazebo will be conducted by Rotary at least annually. Any damage found during inspections will be taken care of by Rotary. The Town insures the gazebo.

The intention is to have the gazebo completed in time for the Garden Club’s May 2018 sale.
