Karen Gaffney, District Governor, visited with us and brought new pins and a banner with the theme of the year, “Rotary Making a Difference.”

Karen explained that we have 3 priorities: do more service with getting hands dirty (not just great speakers and fundraising & writing checks), raise awareness in the community, and increase membership.

Examples of service projects in our district include:

o  Milford serves almost 10,000 summer lunches

o  Ayer builds ramps for wheelchair bound individuals

o Concord offers skills assessments for prisoners

o  Marlboro donates crock pots and cook books to low income families

Karen is encouraging clubs to partner with other “younger” groups.
