The Franklin Rotary Club and Ferguson Enterprises of Franklin are coming together at the Rockland Trust Board Room, located at 58 Main Street, Franklin, MA on Thursday, December 5, at 5:00 PM for “Clean for the Holidays,” a project to provide cleaning supplies and tools to clients of the Franklin Food Pantry.
According to Lynn Calling, the Executive Director at the Franklin Food Pantry, “More families count on the Franklin Food Pantry during the holidays and winter months as they stretch their dollars to cover increased heat and electricity costs.”  Many in our community do not know that cleaning supplies cannot be purchased with vouchers and food stamps. The Franklin Rotary Club stepped last year to provide 200 pails of cleaning supplies to clients of the Franklin Food Pantry. “Our clients really appreciated them last year and it will be great to be able to have them available again,” said Calling.
While preparing for their second annual fall service project, the Rotary Club was approached by Rick Salvucci from Ferguson Enterprises who heard about their efforts and asked how they could help. “Rick and I have been friends since high school and we feel it is truly gratifying to be able to bring our local organizations together for a great cause!” said Rotarian Diane Padula.
This year, with the help of Ferguson Enterprises, 250 cleaning pails will be filled needed supplies, brushes and sponges.
The Rotary Club of Franklin, MA is an affiliate of Rotary Club International; a non-profit organization made up of a diverse group of men and women “who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world.”
