Rotary Education Foundation of Framingham

The Rotary Education Fund of Framingham provides scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors in six high schools in our coverage area.  The Framingham club is fortunate to be the beneficiary of a large donation by a Rotarian, Fred Turenne, in 1954 aimed at creating a foundation for granting scholarships to worthy high school seniors from the towns of Framingham, Ashland, Hopkinton and Holliston.  Fred’s wife continued to support our Foundation.  Each year, applications from 60-80 students are evaluated by the trustees and officers of the Education Foundation to be awarded a scholarship.  Between ten and fifteen scholarships are awarded each year worth approximately $4,000 each.  During the past ten years, we have granted scholarships worth over $450,000 to more than 100 students - a truly extraordinary accomplishment!
