The Rotary Education Foundation of Framingham provides scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors in seven high schools in our coverage area. The Framingham club is fortunate to be the beneficiary of a large donation by a Rotarian, Fred Turenne, in 1954 aimed at creating a foundation for granting scholarships to worthy high school seniors from the towns of Framingham, Ashland, Hopkinton and Holliston. Fred’s wife continues to support our Foundation. Each year, applications from 60-80 students are evaluated by the trustees and officers of the Education Foundation to be awarded a scholarship. Ten scholarships are awarded each year worth approximately $4,500 each. During the past ten years we have granted scholarships worth over $450,000 to 100 students - a truly extraordinary accomplishment!
