Scholarship Gurus Do Their Thing!The Scholarship Committee met on May 29th and immediately got down to business.
This year's pool of applicants included twenty-two graduating seniors from the area. And, as is usually the case, the accomplishments of these young men and women are surpassed only by the promise of their futures! The committee, chaired by Dave Philbin, reviewed the twenty-two applications and awarded nine scholarships totalling $5,500. A big thanks to Bob Farragher, Jeanne Paulino, Nancy Moran, Dave Philbin, and Dave Dunn (pinch hitting for Mary Pat Heelan) for their work on this important club event. And a big shout out to the members who worked in our fundraising events throughout the year in order to support our scholarships. |

Road Clean up - Spring 2009
Jean, Sheila and Missy Lindberg(Ron's guest, what a guy!) look over part of the afternoon's take. Not pictured, but also wearing stylish vests and gloves as well as carrying home made spears, are Ron, Harry, Chris, Charlie and Carlos. The rain held off, the road is clean(er) everyone had a great time (I did not ask, but I'm sure they did). Thanks!

Community Cafe
John never carved a turkey before volunteering at the Cafe. He also never enjoyed sweet potatos this much. Not pictured are Jeannete Lopez (she was cleaning dishes whilst filling in for Gordon), Mark (he was carving the turkey and serving) and Carlos (he was mashing potatos). Did I say John was eating sweet potatos? Three servings and some take out.
