  1. Grand Futures Prevention Coalition-Teen Councils - Funded $1,000: Helped to fund alternative events, youth attendance at conferences, meetings and projects conducted by Teen Councils in Hayden, Oak Creek and Steamboat Springs that have a combined total of more than 50 high school members across all three councils.  In turn, the Teen Councils interact with the student body of over 900 youth.
  2. Junior Achievement, Rocky Mountains Inc - Funded $1,000: Helped to bring Junior Achievement bring 50 8th grade students from Routt County to Denver for a two day overnight field trip called JA Destination Success.
  1. Northwest Colorado Center for Independence-Funded $1,000: Helped to provide a variety of activities and transportation, food and other supplies for activities for disabled citizens of Routt County
  1. Northwest Colorado BOCES - Funded $1,200: Added two assessment test kits to the test library for checkout by NW BOCES Special services Providers and Special Education teachers in our school districts.  The test kits will allow them to strengthen their identification and intervention programs for youth with developmental disabilities.
  1. Reach Out and Read Colorado - Funded $1,000: Allows them to continue providing a prescription for literacy for the well-deserving children of Steamboat, giving them a brand-new book distributed by their trusted medical provider, coupled with anticipatory guidance for the caregiver on how to used that book to promote better parent-child bonding and school readiness at home.
  1. REPS-Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide - Funded $2,000: Helped to fund QPR Training (Question, Persuade, Refer) for approximately 100 attendees.  The QPR program is a contributor to the 70% decrease in local suicide numbers I the last three years in Routt County.
  1. Routt County Council for Aging - Funded $1,000-Funding for summer activities for 75-100 seniors.  Activities include BBQ dinners, pontoon boat rides at Steamboat Lake, shopping trips and pizza and movie days.
  1. Yampa Valley Sustainability Council - ReTree Program-Funded $1,000-The grant will used specifically for the youth environmental education and stewardship activities.  ReTree will be engaging youth in planting and preserving the tree-scapes that provide our sense of place here in the Yampa Valley.
  1. New Frontiers for Girls and Women - Funded $500-Bringing 8th grade girls from Routt County to CMC for a one-day conference learning about careers from successful professionals in our community.  Donation paid for food, facilities and materials.
  1. Opera Steamboat-Funded $500 - The grant will be used toward the 2018 series of vocal workshops for special needs populations.  The program partners with Horizon’s, Parkinson’s Support Group and the Yampa Valley Autism Program providing each organization with a unique and tailored vocal training course.
