PROGRAM:

Scott Marr invited Paula to provide a brief history of our local Foundation and Jack Black Member beginnings.    With an initial amount of $10,000, our Foundation balance has grown to $539,000, providing funds that allow us to invest back into our community.   Mark Andersen, a prior Rotarian and current Executive Director of the Yampa Valley Foundation, provided an update on the philosophy and management of our funds.  Scott then presented Jack Black Member awards to a number of Rotarians.

The following Rotarians received the Jack Black Member award.  Congratulations and thank you for your contributions:  Ashley Kane, Dan Hagney, Melissa Gibson, Marci Valicenti, Todd Hayes, Eric Rabesa, Erik Griepentrog, Ron Thom, Kristal Eckley and Tara Weaver.

GOOD NEWS:

Thanks to Cory, good news raised $480 for our student scholarships!  Not only was it hard to say no to a gentleman with a badge, but many enjoyed the experience of slipping a little money to a police officer.  Thank you Cory and I am guessing you may be asked again.

NEXT WEEK’S PROGRAM:

Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in the Steamboat Community – Michelle Freckleton and Nancy Mucklow.

Respectfully submitted,

Carol Johnson

Have a great day!
