Brett Allison provided Thought for the Day on Laughter;

"My thought for the day is Laughter, As we take on the responsibilities of the world, many of us come to believe that laughter is something only children do. Some of us even believe that laughing makes us less professional or immature. Research shows that children laugh about 400 times a day, but adults on average laugh only about 15 times. Do you know why? I believe that laughter is the most powerful thing in everyone’s life. It can make anyone at any time go from sad to happy in two seconds. Everyone does it every day and enjoys every second of it. This miracle drug is laughter. Laughing invokes feelings of happiness and joy. Shared laughter is one of the most effective tools that strengthens our relationships by triggering positive feelings and fostering emotional connections. As well as adding joy, vitality, and resilience. Humor is a powerful and effective way to heal resentments, disagreements, and pain. Laughter unites people during difficult times. This bond acts as a strong buffer against stress, disagreements, and disappointment. Genuine warm laughter is in a class of its own. We can laugh delicately, enjoy a full belly laugh, or we can laugh until the tears are rolling down our cheeks. Laughter breaks down walls and dissolves barriers between others. Laughter has the power to alter our “bad moods” in just seconds, and is impossible to keep hidden inside. Laughter is also contagious. Every day at some point I will laugh. I laugh at my friends, my customers, at Joanna and most importantly myself. Laughter has helped people through hard times all of their lives. It is proven that laughter is a powerful remedy for stress and pain. Nothing works as fast to bring your mind and body back into balance. Laughter is like an instant mini vacation. It leaves your mind peaceful and calm. Even just a face breaking into a smile is a genuine good message in anybody’s language. If the saying, “The more you laugh the longer you live,” is true then I should live forever. I believe in the power of laughter. It can reach you at your lowest low and pull you back up again, so live and laugh."
