We had wonderful - hot - weather for our ice cream social meeting at Pizzi Farm on July 30. Thanks to Rick Pizzi for the hospitality!

We enjoyed kicking off August with our meeting at Gore Place with Mike and Hannah Morse from John Brewer's Tavern. Excited for the energy and commitment to community that they will continue to bring to a local favorite.

Remember to join us for our lunch meeting at Gore Place on August 20 at 12:15pm. We will hear from Chet Harding who is the Executive Director of the Bedford Chamber. Chet is also involved with an important organization, Amirah. Come to learn more.

And don't forget our evening meeting this month: August 27 at 5:30pm. We will meet at City Streets for fellowship and perhaps a bit of friendly competition... feel free to bring a favorite game. We would love to see some more faces around the table. ;)

What's coming up in Waltham
SOCIAL SECURITY’S 90th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Waltham Council on Aging on August 12 at 2-3pm

On August 14, 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act. This year marks the 90th anniversary of that landmark legislation, and with that anniversary comes recognition of the benefits that Social Security brings to Americans everywhere. Social Security at 90 is a lifeline, and we have a responsibility to strengthen it, particularly given the current challenges it faces. Please join AARP Massachusetts as we commemorate the 90th anniversary on Tuesday, August 12th from 2-3 PM at the Waltham Council on Aging. Refreshments will be served. FREE. Please register with the CoA to attend.
YUM! Corn Roast at Gore Place on August 14

Bring a picnic blanket to stay and enjoy the music or you can takeaway. This is a great way to support local farms, local food and your local museum. Free admission, free parking.
