Let's start thinking ahead to hosting an informative, fun, community focused event to support Polio Plus. Pints for Polio at Craft Food Halls last year was a great start. Let Laura know if you want to join a committee to plan Pints for 2025.

Congratulations to Gore Place, Waltham Chamber, and Charles River Chamber on a lovely multi-chamber gathering this week. Several Waltham Rotarians enjoyed the evening!

Circle of Hope visits Waltham Rotary on September 3
It was a pleasure to welcome Community Engagement Manager Christine Ruddy to our meeting. Christine shared several stories about the impact Circle of Hope is having with families in Boston and across greater Metro West. Circle of Hope delivers clothing, coats, shoes, bedding, and hygiene essentials to over 30 shelters, healthcare clinics, schools, universities, and community programs. The organization also makes emergency deliveries as needed, providing families facing immediate crises like house fires and domestic violence exactly what they need in the moment to protest health and foster opportunity.

Don't forget our 4th Wednesday meeting at City Streets on September 24 at 5:30pm!

These evening meetings are a great opportunity to bring a friend and introduce them to the wonders of Rotary - especially the great people. Enjoy some laughs, a bite to eat, and perhaps a toast to a little more summer? If the weather is good, we will be on the deck. Otherwise find us inside.

How about a 5k in October?
Lots of opportunities:

Once you have your pace figured out, take on the Pumpkin Dash 5K with the Waltham Y on October 18. The race is part of YMCA of Greater Boston's Together We Move Race Series. Check it out!

Finish out the month supporting the Waltham Land Trust at their Western Greenway 5k. The course goes through and around a variety of habitats in Beaver Brook North Reservation and Rock Meadow, including cattail marshes, forests, vernal pools, and open meadows. Lovely!

And don't forget to plan for the Harvest Breakfast on October 20! Support Opportunities for Inclusion and enjoy stacks upon stacks of pancakes. Yum!

Keep up with what's happening in Waltham - and support local media!
