Last week at our meeting, we had an inspiring and fun visit from District Governor Johnny Ahern. Our new DG is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Leominster Massachusetts, where he has been a member for the past 6 years. He served as an Assistant Governor and on the Public Image Committee for District 7910, and he is a Trustee of the District. Johnny is a member of the Rotary LGBTQ+ Fellowship, the Military Veterans Fellowship, lifetime member of the Wine Appreciation Fellowship, a member of the Rotary Action Group for Mental Health Initiatives, and a multiply PHF.
A franchisee with Aroma Joe's (locations in Leominster and Tewksbury), Johnny also serves as the Secretary on their Corporate Marketing Advisory Board representing four states.
Johnny and his District Governor classmates refer to themselves as “Delinquents” in the untraditional meaning. Their goal is to bring vibrancy and collaboration across the district and beyond. Waltham is up for that!

The Polio Plus mascot - Paulie-O
Yes - it is that time again! Mark your calendars for October 23 at Craft Food Halls for Pints for Polio. We are collaborating with the Weston/Wayland Club and others in our own backyard! Join the fun and fellowship, make your pledge to EndPolioNow, and maybe even get a pin from Paulie-O showing your support.
There will be information and motivation - and there will also be live music. If you were at Pints for Polio last year, you know just how good the bank West of Willow is - and if not, come check them out.

Rotary Calendar Drawing is off and running!
We are asking each Waltham Rotarian to sell at least 30 tickets.
This has been a good fundraiser for us and we are starting early to hopefully increase the number of tickets sold. The tickets have a new look, but the game remains the same: each entry gives you 31 chances to win $100 in January 2026.
Get your stack of tickets to sell - or get more if you have already sold your 30 - from Laura or Stewart. Happy to drop off or mail if needed... but hopefully we will see you at a meeting soon!
Janine shares that the Moody branch of Rockland Trust is doing a non-perishable food and coat drive through November 15. Please drop off canned items and new or gently used coats at the branch.
Sarah asks Rotarians for ideas to host the REACH holiday party for families - and reminds everyone that the REACH Corporate Lunch is coming up on October 21.
