Covid-19

FARMINGTON ROTARY AND DISTRICT 7890 CONTINUE TO HUNKER DOWN UNTIL AT LEAST JUNE 20TH.
This update comes to you from our bunker on the corner of Farmington Avenue and Main Street in the center of Farmington, USA. (3-25-2020)
 
Hope everyone is staying healthy as we continue to ride out the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently it appears the earliest we could expect a return to weekly live meetings will be June 20th.  In the immediate future, we are planning online Zoom meetings for all Farmington Rotarians.  Check your email for details. We hope you will join us.   
 
In the meantime please check in with your fellow Rotarians and neighbors in case there are any needs for food or supplies. Here are some more ideas that we as Rotarians can engage in to help out in our community:
  • There is an urgent need for blood donors. If you are able, please schedule an appointment at the American Red Cross Donation Center on 209 Farmington Avenue. Call ahead at 877-287-3327.
  • The Farmington Food Pantry is feeling the stresses of this pandemic. Food donations can be made at the fire station across from First Church on Main Street from 7am - 5pm.  If you live out of town, please consider making a donation to your local food pantry.
  • Staying socially connected is important during this challenging time for our psychological well-being. Though we can't visit each other face to face, consider setting up a video chat on Facebook with a friend or loved one who may be isolated.
  • Spring is here!! ...and getting are yards, gardens and curbside cleaned up might be just the medicine needed to help overcome the blahs. We had hoped to participate in the Town wide clean up on April 18th. While that might not be easy given the current situation, consider grabbing a big lawn bag and walking around your neighborhood to pick up roadside litter. If you are lucky enough to have a wagon, use that as a way to carry more. If you're along a roadside don't forget to wear bright clothing for your safety.
