Service Above Self Award

The Service Above Self Award is Rotary International's highest individual honor for Rotarians.   Conferred by Rotary International's Board of Directors, the award recognizes not more than 150 Rotarians annually who have demonstrated exemplary humanitarian service, with an emphasis on personal volunteer efforts and active involvement in helping others through Rotary.   Service rendered by the awardee through Rotary must have been on a continuing basis, and the award is not given solely in recognition of one's performance in an elected or appointed Rotary assignment.
