September is Basic Education and Literacy Month; in support of this theme, we will collect Kindergarten age-appropriate books each week beginning on 8 September. We will consolidate and sort the books, then provide them to each of the Kindergarten classrooms at East Ward, West Ward, and Ira Cross so that those kids have books to take home and call their own. In order to accomplish this, we need to collect a minimum of 325 books over the course of the month.
Supporting this effort can be fairly inexpensive - Kindergarten age-appropriate books are available for $1 each at our local area HEB stores.
