PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

We have LOTS of activities happening all around South Tyler Rotary!

Even though Summer 2019 has just ended, we have already started planning for the December Rotary Christmas parade, have initiated plans with the Tyler Salvation Army for ringing bells at various kettle locations in December, and will be working with local Rotary Clubs to secure and assemble bicycles for Christmas gifts. We need LOTS of South Tyler Rotary volunteers to make these events a success for the Tyler community; there are so many great opportunities to serve as South Tyler Rotarians!

STR had TEN members attend Marshall Rotary’s 100 year celebration. Our members joined over 200 Rotarians celebrating 100 years of service and were challenged by Rotary International President Mark Daniel Mahoney's reminder that “Rotary Connects the World.”

Jeff Cummings is working diligently to develop FUN networking/social events to bring STR members together. Watch the weekly bulletins and use the opportunities to learn more about new AND long-term STR members.

Thanks to the volunteers who GREET visitors, area Rotarians, and our own members each week. STR continues to grow in membership because of our commitment to SERVE. Please use the weekly meeting time to introduce yourself to new friends, learn more about each other, and help make everyone feel welcome at our STR meetings!

South Tyler Rotary Grant Application DEADLINE is September 9 - download the application HERE.

Please share with organizations you think should submit a request.

The grant committee will meet after the September 9 deadline to determine how to distribute the grants this year. We may decide to distribute many smaller grants, as we have in years past. Or, we might choose to make a bigger impact in our community with a larger grant and a few smaller ones. If you have interest in serving on the grant committee, contact Diane Kavanaugh.
