We had a great group of STR members at last Tuesday’s Spelling Bee. Thank you all so very much. It was an honor to have you there. A big special thanks to Lee Montgomery for having the guts to get in front of 400 people and spell. As Lee walked off the stage, he whispered to me…” it looks easier than it is.” Right. And, yes, he knew how to spell, DEPOSITION…his nerves and all the activity around him just got the better of him. But guess what? Lee got to be personally involved in raising $62,500 to help adults get back on track educationally. And I am so glad he did because I know for a fact that 4 million adults in the state of Texas need the sort of services LCOT provides. I also know for a fact that Texas serves about 200,000 of these students annually. One more fact: if we could serve 1,000,000 annually it would be a 4 Billion (yes that is with a “B”) return on our investment. As someone has wisely said, “You think education is expensive…try ignorance.”
