As we approach the close of another Rotary year, these words from our founder, Paul Harris, remind us of what truly sustains and propels our mission—friendship. It’s not just a pleasant byproduct of service; it’s the very foundation of it.
I have been truly blessed to meet and get to know many people locally, throughout our district and also across Rotary. If Tom Dewitt had not invited me to be part of this organization, I may have never met many of you. Think about what Rotary means to you, and what your personal Rotary story involves. How can you share YOUR story to invite more to be part of this amazing mission?
In the next few weeks, we will see changes in leadership across all levels of Rotary—club, district, and international. These transitions are more than routine. They are opportunities for new energy, fresh ideas, and renewed commitment. Yet amid the changes, one thing remains constant: the relationships we’ve built.
At South Tyler Rotary, we’ve accomplished so much together—not just through projects and events, but through the connections we’ve deepened over lunch, service days, and moments of laughter and learning. These friendships make us stronger and make our impact greater.
As we prepare to pass the baton, let’s take a moment to celebrate the friendships that made this year meaningful—and carry that same spirit of connection into the new Rotary year. Whether you're stepping into a leadership role or supporting from the sidelines, your presence matters. Your friendship matters.
