South Tyler Rotary is accepting applications for grants from the proceeds of the 2019 Spaghetti Supper August 1 through September 9. The Grant Application is available on the STR website. Please share with organizations you think should submit a request.
The grant committee will meet after the September 9 deadline to determine how to distribute the grants this year. We may decide to distribute many smaller grants, as we have in years past. Or, we might choose to make a bigger impact in our community with a larger grant and a few smaller ones. If you have interest in serving on the grant committee, contact Diane Kavanaugh.
MEMBER SPOTLIGHT Stan Anderson
Stan moved to Tyler from Monroe, LA in July 2018. After 15 years in banking in Louisiana, he came to Texas to accept a position with Prosperity Bank in Tyler to help grow their commercial team in East Texas.
Stan is married to Lauri Anderson, who works for TISD, and they have four children ranging in age from 27 to 9. Their oldest just got married in May of this year and is a practicing veterinarian in Pensacola, FL. Their two youngest children attend Three Lakes Middle school and Jack Elementary.
When he is not working or attending Rotary, he splits his time between family, serving on the board for Meals on Wheels, volunteering for United Way, and playing golf with friends at Willow Brook.
One tradition that Stan looks forward to is attending Alabama Crimson Tide games each fall with his family. As a season ticket holder, he makes several games a year. He and his dad always attend the Bama/Tennessee and Iron Bowl games when they are played in Tuscaloosa. The hardest part of living in Tyler is being three hours farther away from the games, and not having regular Sunday coverage of New Orleans Saints games (the true America’s team!).
