PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Jeff Johnston
This past year was a blur - at least for me! I am thankful for many, many people and leaders. 
What about you? Have you taken time to reflect on how blessed each of us are? Our faith, our families, our jobs, our community, our nation... and definitely the STR club!
As we move into 2020, I challenge each of you to think about YOUR LIFE and SERVICE. We ALL come from different areas, work in many different careers, face many types of setbacks, and have endured different challenges.
WHO has made the MOST DIFFERENCE in your LIFE?
In your family?
In your school experience?
In your church?
In your friendships?
Think of ONE or TWO teachers or managers who “rung your bell.”
What made them different?
What do you admire most about them?
What did you learn from them?
What do you want to be KNOW FOR?
What will be your LEGACY?
As members of STR and Rotary International, we ALL have the common bond of SERVANT LEADERSHIP. As you reflected on your life, I hope you have identified one or two leaders who “rung your bell.”
What can you do in 2020 to make a difference in your faith, family, work, community and STR?

BIKE BUILD!
The Bike Build was a great success with STR having a strong (if not the largest) presence. For those members still needing to meet their pledge for bike purchases, you may give your checks to Lee Montgomery at Monday's luncheon.
MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
John McDougald
John was born in Titusville, Florida, but his family moved around a lot since his father was a space/aeronautical engineer for NASA and for Boeing. He said that his father was in the control room when the first man landed on the moon!
John is the youngest of seven children and confirmed, “It’s true that the youngest is the favorite. LOL!”
His desire to help young people began with teaching religious education as a teenager with his mother. This led him to seek employment in non-profit work right after college, and he has continued in the non-profit sector for 30 years now. Currently, John is serving Junior Achievement of the Greater Tyler Area to impact 6,000 students each year. John considers it a special honor to be involved with this organization as 2020 marks the 100th Anniversary of Junior Achievement!
John and Joy have been married for 27 years. They enjoy traveling and have been to over half of the states in the USA, and at least 27 countries - they love to explore as much as possible!
A Rotarian for 25+ years, John's Rotary journey began in Pampa, TX, and he is looking forward to being involved with Rotary for many more years to come.
