PATH is open Monday-Thursday, 9 AM-2 PM for food pantry assistance only. The Food Pantry will operate a modified drive-thru and walk-up model that minimizes the risk of COVID-19 and protects the health of staff, volunteers and our neighbors in need.
East Texas Food Bank is partnering with Food Finders of Smith County for a Senior Box Home Delivery for low-income seniors over 60 who are home bound or quarantined and at-risk of hunger. The boxes contain shelf-stable groceries such as dried beans, rice, pasta and canned meat, fruits and vegetables. Each box will provide items for up to 16 meals. Learn more HERE.
In response to COVID-19, the East Texas Food Bank is holding weekly drive-thru emergency food box distribution.
ETFB will be distributing emergency food boxes and two gallons of milk to each household, while supplies last. The boxes are an added layer on top of the 21.3 million meals ETFB distributes every year. The boxes contain shelf-stable groceries such as dried beans, rice, pasta and canned meat, fruits and vegetables. Each box will provide items for 16 meals. To receive a free box, community members just need to provide their name and address. There are no eligibility requirements or identification needed. The drive-thru distribution will be at the East Texas State Fairgrounds. ETFB is prepared to serve 1,000 households at each distribution.
East Texas Human Needs Network is coordinating temporary isolation housing to the unsheltered homeless community who have conditions that place them at higher risk of complications from a COVID-19 infection. NO DINNER SPAGHETTI DINNER!
Our annual Reed Franklin Spaghetti Supper scheduled for April 30th is not happening, however, South Tyler Rotary is still committed to raising funds for use in our annual grant distribution later in 2020. In order to raise these funds, we are turning our event into a No Dinner Spaghetti Dinner.
We are asking each member to make a personal donation to the South Tyler Rotary Foundation.
If each of our 100+ members would donate $150, we could raise $15,000 to supplement amounts already received.
For each person who donates any amount, your name will go in a drawing for 100 Paul Harris Fellow points. For each person who donates over $150.00, your name will go in a drawing 3 times for both the 100 Paul Harris Fellow points, along with a Rotary Themed Gift. Team incentives are still in play for the team raising the most funds and teams with 100% participation.
