Happy New Rotary Year! I’m excited and honored to serve as South Tyler Rotary President this year. First, a big thank you to Past-President Jeff Johnston for serving our club this last Rotary year. He continued to grow and strengthen our club, even in the midst of COVID-19. Despite the challenges, South Tyler Rotary accomplished great things last year. Thank you, Jeff and your board, for all you did to make South Tyler Rotary club successful!
At our installation luncheon last Monday, I shared the Rotary theme for this year as Rotary Opens Opportunities. I truly believe that the opportunities for us through Rotary are endless. I focused my speech on the opportunity to grow, the opportunity to change and the opportunity to serve. In today’s bulletin, I’d like to tell you more about opportunities to serve our club:
I’m strongly encouraging each member to serve on one of our committees. We have a variety of committees, including service, youth service, meals, greeters, Christmas Parade, polio plus and more. If you have not already done so, please complete this quick survey to let us know which area you are willing to serve.
Join our board of directors. We’re looking for a few people to serve as Assistant Secretary and/or Assistant Treasurer.
Invite someone you know to join our club. While you’re at it, consider sitting with someone different at the next meeting.
Donate blood at our quarterly bloodmobile drive on Monday, July 13. The drive will be held at Chick-Fil-A Broadway Crossing. You will need to sign up in advance using the Carter Blood Care website. More details coming soon. If you cannot participate on the 13th, please consider a donation any time.
We hope you can join us at a meeting soon. Some of our members are understandably staying away due to personal health concerns. Please keep all of our members in your prayers.

Spaghetti Supper Wrap Up By the Numbers
We raised $24,410 by 43 members. When the call went out to members to personally support our non-event, 39 members donated a total of $8,025.
After expenses and waiver of the STR Foundation portion, we’ll have roughly $24,218 in grant funding this Rotary year.
The following members had over $1,000 in sales:
Jeff Johnston $1,000
Beth Blaisdell $1,050
David Lake $1,100
Tom Seale $1,250
Bill Coats $1,250
Tom DeWitt $2,150
Breck Watson $4,100
Congratulations to David Lake; his name was drawn from those raising more than $1,000, and he advances to the next Paul Harris Fellow level.

Congratulations to the following members: Mike Munn, Claude Henry, Jim Rollins, Lee Montgomery, Jen Katz, Scott Harrison, Jeff Johnston, Russ Seifert, Randy Marshall and Howard Patterson.
