The grant committee will meet after the September 9 deadline to determine how to distribute the grants this year. We may decide to distribute many smaller grants, as we have in years past. Or, we might choose to make a bigger impact in our community with a larger grant and a few smaller ones. If you have interest in serving on the grant committee, contact Diane Kavanaugh.

Chris Miller has a wealth of experience with local and regional governments. In his most recent position, Chris was the Executive Director of the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission (SARPC), a position he has held for several years. Prior to that, Chris was the Deputy Director of the organization for six years. Chris has also held the role of City Administrator for almost a decade. He has achieved a Master of Public Administration from the University Of Colorado Graduate School Of Public Affairs, as well as a Bachelor of Arts and History with a Minor in Political Science from the University of Northern Colorado.
Chris is married to Christy Dazzio Miller and they are the proud parents of four children: John Paul (25), Pearce (23), Luke (19) and Mary Claire (12). He is an avid baseball fan and college football fan. Chris enjoys spending time with family, exercising, traveling, hiking, and studying American history and American literature.
“I am honored to be named the Executive Director of the NET RMA,” Chris said. “I am committed to working alongside the visionary board members and great staff/management and operations team from East Texas who are passionate about moving transportation forward,” he continued. “I am also excited and humbled to be working with the leaders of our 12-county region.
