Kerrville & Surrounding Area Disaster Relief — Help Our Fellow Rotarians Rebuild 
South Tyler Rotary Club Weekly Newsletter Feature

As many of you may have seen in the news—or felt personally—our Rotary family in District 5840 has been deeply affected by the catastrophic flooding that hit Kerrville and surrounding communities on July 4th. The Guadalupe River surged more than 30 feet, washing away homes, displacing families, and forever changing lives.

💔 Lives have been lost. Families are grieving. Communities are devastated.
And now begins the hard work of recovery.

As Rotarians, we are called to serve—especially in times of crisis. The Rotary Foundation of District 5840 has launched a Disaster Relief Fund to support long-term recovery efforts. 100% of donations will go directly to help those affected, and every dollar makes a difference.

We know that disaster relief is not just about the initial response—it’s about standing beside our fellow Rotarians and their communities as they respond, recover, and rebuild.

Please consider a tax-deductible donation today and help bring hope to those facing unimaginable loss.

🏈 This Week at South Tyler Rotary – July 21  Meeting Reminder

Join us this Monday as we welcome John Denton, former Executive Director of the Flying T Club, for a timely and engaging conversation about the evolving world of college sports and NIL (Name, Image, Likeness).

With major changes in collegiate athletics, the Flying T Club has been dissolved — and John is here to share what led to that decision, how it reflects broader shifts in the industry, and what’s next.

🎤 About the Speaker:
John Denton has spent over 30 years with TCU, serving as Executive Director of the Frog Club, Director of Major Gifts for TCU Athletics, and as a beloved broadcaster for the Horned Frog Sports Network. A former walk-on kicker turned scholarship player, John played from 1981–1984, finishing with an appearance in the 1984 Bluebonnet Bowl.

⚽️🏈🎙 Whether you're a college sports fan, TCU alum, or just curious about what NIL means for the future of athletics — this is a program you won’t want to miss!
