The 2019-2020 Rotary year has been a blur - new faces, returning faces, changes in leadership, and most impacting, COVID-19. When we look back at this last Rotary year, we can be proud of:
- The CONTINUED SERVICE we provided the greater Tyler community in many ways: community service grants to local nonprofit organizations, regular cleaning of Bergfeld Park, assisting with the annual Tyler Christmas parade, helping build and provide bicycles to many deserving children at Christmas, supporting the food pantry at PATH, giving blood through the Carter BloodCare network, and many, many personal activities.
- EXPANDING OUR KNOWLEDGE through weekly meetings at South Tyler Rotary. We were challenged to learn more about many agencies, groups, and individuals in a wide variety of service areas in the Tyler community.
- INVESTING IN YOUTH through the Rotary INTERACT and RYLA youth activities.
- SUPPORTING the ROTARY FOUNDATION through our dues and major additions to the number of PAUL HARRIS members of STR.
As we wind down our 2019-2020 STR year, we HOPE to be able to meet again as a group at First Christian Church starting Monday, June 8. The timing and final approval may push the date back another week to June 15. All members will receive an electronic notice/email regarding the next “on-site meeting” later this week.
I challenged everyone to step up and do more as Servant Leaders in my July 2019 newsletter. A year later, I am proud to say you have stepped up and continue to impact many, many lives.

We're continuing to accept donations towards this year's No Dinner Spaghetti Dinner. We understand that these are trying times for our members and appreciate any support you are able to give. Mail checks, payable to the South Tyler Rotary Foundation, to PO Box 7153, Tyler TX 75711, or you can make a credit card payment at one of our upcoming June meetings!
As one year comes to a close, it is time to think about the new Rotary year that begins July 1st. If you have not already responded, please complete the SURVEY.
PAUL HARRIS MATCH STATUS

As of May 25, South Tyler Rotary members have contributed $2,162.00 during the first 25 days of the match program. There are 15 days left in the program and I would love to see us hit $5,000, including a number of new Paul Harris Fellowships. Remember, you can give to Polio+ (and have your gift matched 2 for 1 by the Gates Foundation) or the Annual Fund (this is where our District Matching funds come from.)
You can go online to make your donations or send a check made payable to The Rotary Foundation to my address, 1467 Old Creek Dr., Tyler, TX 75703. And remember, the match is based on donations of $100 or more. Some of you who make direct payments will actually have two deposits that count, so even if your monthly gift is under $100, the combination may hit the mark and you will get credit and match.
