Spaghetti Supper - May 20 - WE NEED YOUR HELP!
President Elect and Spaghetti Supper Chair Beth Blaisdell has set a goal of raising $60,000 with this year's May 20 event. It takes all of us working together to meet or exceed that goal! How can you help?
- Other people's money (i.e. solicit donors) - Ask business associates, your employer or friends to sponsor the event. Visit our Spaghetti Supper page to download the sponsor letter and invoice.
- Foundations - Do you serve on the board of a foundation? Stephen Horlander is submitting grant proposals on behalf of South Tyler Rotary Foundation. Let Stephen or Beth know if you serve on one of these foundations.
- Personal donation - We encourage all members to make a personal donation to the Spaghetti Supper. Beth's challenge is for each member to donate a minimum of $100. You can bring checks to our meetings or we are set up with a square device for credit cards. We hope to have a Venmo option in the very near future.

Youth Services Update
The RYLA virtual camp was held last Saturday. South Tyler Rotary had 6 students attend the virtual camp. They will also attend an in person event in September. The Four Way Test Speech contest scheduled for May 10th is cancelled as the student's schedules were too involved at the end of the school year. A big THANK YOU to our Youth Services team of Michael Hurley and Kathi White for all of their hard work this year on both programs. We appreciate both of you for your graciousness in dealing with the variety of changes thrown at you this year.
PATH Community Homes Work Day - May 8th 8:30-12
Join us Saturday, May 8th for a work day at one of PATH's Community Homes. PATH owns/rents out 52 properties to low income individuals and families getting back on their feet. South Tyler Rotary members will assist at a vacant home to make it ready for the next tenant. Make ready can involve everything from painting, cleaning, replacing flooring, hanging blinds and light fixtures, to cleaning up outside. We recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty or paint on. Location to be announced a few days before the event. Service Awards Nominations
At our June 28th meeting, South Tyler Rotary recognizes community members for their service to Tyler and Smith County. Please submit your nominations for Educator, First Responder, Health Care or Community Volunteer by May 25th. Please use this form to submit your nominations. Rotary Foundation Giving
In the first 22 days of the Matching Points campaign, our members contributed $2370 to the annual fund, bringing our YTD total to $4286. Way to go STR! Our overall giving, including both Polio Plus and the Annual Fund is $8147 for this Rotary year. Our total goal is $12500 ($2500 for Polio Plus and $10,000 for The Rotary Foundation). District Events:
Join Rotarians from across District 5830 for a day of training and fellowship. May 1 - 8:30 to 2:30 in Longview. Cost is $25 per person to attend and includes lunch.
