April Chennault was born and raised in Tyler. She has been a nurse for almost 30 years and has an extensive background in Cardio/ER and ICU. She describes herself as having strong conservative values.

April's children are 23 and 25; her daughter is a Texas A&M grad (WHOOP) and her son is working towards military enlistment.

Actively fundraising and  coordinating events for The Apache Warrior Foundation, a veterans' organization founded by a Tyler native and friend since junior high, is near and dear to April's heart. She is also very passionate about the SPCA and Nicholas Pet Haven.

Her bucket list items include a stay in Bora Bora in a hut over the water, and an adventure in a glass igloo under the Northern Lights.

April closed with, "I love veterans, dogs, wine and girls outings."
