Dave Sherman – 52 Sunday Dinners

Teresa Sherman began traveling with Mentoring Minds when the company started in 2003.  Shortly thereafter Dave taught himself to cook. In 2010 he began scheduling regular Sunday Dinners with his children, grandchildren and mother-in-law.  This became a time to visit, reflect and plan. If he found a dish that he and the family liked he recorded it in his recipe site 52SundayDinners.com.  Eleven years and a few hundred recipes later the tradition of meeting has grown to include more grandchildren and often some other legs under the table.  The website focuses on healthy recipes for the family and pokes fun at “Stupid Food” such as Microwaveable Potatoes and Pre-toasted Toast.

Dave Sherman serves as a construction program manager, a construction expert witness, a singer-songwriter, an occasional praise team leader, a CASA volunteer and most importantly a grandfather.

Dave has been a Rotarian for 42 years and was the youngest Rotarian in the Greenville, Mississippi Rotary for 6 years.  He served as STR’s president in 2009-2010.  He lives in Tyler with his lovely wife of 44.95 years.  They have three married children and 11 grandchildren, which is the whole point of 52SundayDinners.com.
