Robert E. Lee Pantry Raid - Thanks to STR members who gave close to $200.00 during our "pass the hat" at our last meeting. The money raised purchased food for the East Texas Food Bank. While REL did not win this year's raid, the Food Bank and Tyler community came out the big winners!
Smith County Rotary Clubs Social October 5th - South Tyler, Tyler Sunrise, Downtown Tyler, Lindale, Troup and Bullard Rotary Clubs have collaborated together to provide a social event for all of our clubs! Ogie has worked as a Health & Fitness Consultant for top corporations, the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL, and the Portland Trailblazers of the NBA.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Bachelor’s degrees in both Speech and Health & Physical Education. He also holds a Master of Sacred Ministry degree from Multnomah Biblical Seminary in Portland. He earned a certificate as a Health Promotion Director from The Cooper Institute in Dallas, Texas.
Ogie is 68, has 3 children (24-36). He resides in Beaverton, Oregon. His wife Julie is a Licensed Tax Consultant and a graduate of George Fox University Seminary with a Master’s degree in Christian Education Administration. His son Chris is a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta and is a civil engineer in Seattle. Tyler is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University in TV & film directing. He was a part of the team with the winning Super Bowl ad three years ago and works in TV & Film in Los Angeles. Daughter Lynley is a graduate of George Fox University in elementary education. She is a gifted teacher and plans to study in Spain next year.
Ogie has given over 4,000 talks on fitness motivation around the country and lectured at over a dozen northwest universities.
He will speak on “What To Do About American Childhood & Adult Obesity.”
