Save the date! Spaghetti Supper is May 20

This year's Reed Franklin Spaghetti Supper is scheduled for Thursday, May 20th. President Elect Beth Blaisdell encourages our members to schedule the day off from work. This year's event will be different and we'll need more hands on deck starting Thursday morning through the early evening. Not in a position to take the day off? There are offsite things you can do as well. Reach out to Beth for more information. FUNDRAISING WILL KICK OFF SOON and we will need your help to solicit sponsors!

Four Way Speech Contest NOW May 10

In an effort to increase more school participation, our Four Way Speech Contest is now scheduled for May 10. If you know of any students at Bishop Gorman, Tyler Legacy or Brook Hill in grades 9-12, they are encouraged to participate.

District 5830 News

South Tyler Rotary President Diane Kavanaugh will serve as Assistant Governor for District 5830 for the 2021-2022 Rotary Year. The Assistant Governor helps maintain a connection between the club and the district. Diane's 4 clubs are South Tyler Rotary, The Rotary Club of Tyler, Tyler Sunrise and Lindale. Congratulations Diane!

March is Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Month

Access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene are basic to staying healthy. According to CDC statistics, approximately 780 million people worldwide do not have access to an improved water source and more that 35% of the world’s population lack access to improved sanitation.

Here in the US, more than 2 million Americans live without access to safe drinking water and sanitation. This is mainly in rural areas and is more likely to affect minority and low-income populations.

An estimated 801,000 children younger than 5 years of age perish from diarrhea each year, mostly in developing countries. Unsafe drinking water, inadequate availability of water for hygiene and a lack of access to sanitation contributes to the majority of these deaths.
