I enjoy being a member of the South Tyler Rotary! It's wonderful to see a community come together and enjoy working with one another.
I am a mother of twins, Allison and Emily (26) and have been married to my wonderful husband, John, for 33 years. Both girls are recently married so we are now experiencing the empty nest! Love to travel; looking forward to our next trip to Greece!
I have been involved with real estate going on nine years. I love meeting new people and helping find the perfect home for their family. Before real estate I wore several hats, from special events director to wedding coordinator and marketing director.
I am currently involved in volunteering at SPCA (love those animals!) and PATH, a program I learned about through Rotary. PATH is truly a wonderful organization and I respect the help they provide locally to those in need. I can't say enough about both of these programs; I'm encouraged every time I step foot through the door of SPCA or PATH. I also encourage anyone who is not volunteering to find a place to help! A quote that sticks out in my mind is from Muhammad Ali, "Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth." Rent's due!
I was asked the question, "What's something you want to do in the next year, that you never have done before?" Of course, it will involve traveling, so my plan is to take trips to places never seen and experience life to the fullest. My new motto is "you are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream!"
Thanks again for allowing me to be a part of South Tyler Rotary - looking forward to getting to know everyone!
The grant committee will meet after the September 9 deadline to determine how to distribute the grants this year. We may decide to distribute many smaller grants, as we have in years past. Or, we might choose to make a bigger impact in our community with a larger grant and a few smaller ones. If you have interest in serving on the grant committee, contact Diane Kavanaugh.
