2020 CLUB GRANT AWARD At our meeting on July 27, South Tyler Rotary will award our 2020 Club Project Grant to the Nurse Family Partnership at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. The Nurse Family Partnership works one-on-one with low-income, pregnant women, pairing nurses with first-time mothers to ensure better health for the moms and their babies. Through our $2,618 grant, NFP can transform the lives of vulnerable babies, mothers and families with the Phases Project. Its objective is to improve health outcomes for mothers and children in Smith County.
Club project grants are funded from the District Grant funds received from the Rotary Foundation. Clubs can use these grants to fund scholarships, support vocational teams, sponsor volunteer service,provide disaster recovery assistance, and carry out community and international service project
South Tyler Rotary members can be involved in the Phases Project by helping pack education boxes for the new mothers, as well as serving as speakers for NFP events. Contact member Pam Jacobsen for more information.
2020 GRANT APPLICATIONS
2020 Grant Applications open August 1. Thanks to the hard work and generous support from our members, we raised $24,000 for support of local and international projects. Our grant applications go live on August 1. If you are interested in serving on the grants committee, please contact Diane Kavanaugh.
