Spaghetti Supper - May 20 - WE NEED YOUR HELP!
President Elect and Spaghetti Supper Chair Beth Blaisdell has set a goal of raising $60,000 with this year's May 20 event. It takes all of us working together to meet or exceed that goal! How can you help?
- Other people's money (i.e. solicit donors) - Ask business associates, your employer or friends to sponsor the event. Visit our Spaghetti Supper page to download the sponsor letter and invoice.
- Foundations - Do you serve on the board of a foundation? Stephen Horlander is submitting grant proposals on behalf of South Tyler Rotary Foundation. Let Stephen or Beth know if you serve on one of these foundations.
- Personal donation - We encourage all members to make a personal donation to the Spaghetti Supper. Beth's challenge is for each member to donate a minimum of $100. You can bring checks to our meetings or we are set up with a square device for credit cards. We hope to have a Venmo option in the very near future.

Congratulations to Nick Pesina on his acceptance into the Texas Opportunity & Justice Incubator, which is the flagship program of the State Bar of Texas addressing the justice gap. TOJI supports Texas lawyers who are building sustainable solo practices serving low-income and modest-income Texans. Nick will use this innovative program to launch his own law firm, Pesina Law Firm.
Tiffany Damskov started a new position as the Director of 2-1-1 East Texas. 2-1-1 East Texas is a free, anonymous, information and referral service that is available to anyone, 7 days per week, 24 hours each day. The service helps to connect people with critical social services and charitable programs that are available in the local community.
Johnny Ortiz finished First Place in the Easter Division Spring 2021 Toastmaster International Speech Contest. Johnny advances to the next level of competition. Way to go Johnny!
At the March City of Tyler Police Awards ceremony, Sergeant Chuck Boyce received the Certificate of Civic Achievement for being a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management team, an instructor for citizen active shooter courses and the main organizer of Blue Santa.
Lieutenant Luke Shafer received the Sworn Supervisor of the Year award. You two make us proud!

Our annual Officer Installation Banquet and Service Awards is scheduled for Monday, June 28. We'll celebrate President Diane Kavanaugh's year, recognize community members with Service Awards and Install President Elect Beth Blaisdell and her board at this meeting. We'll start at 11:30 and wrap up by 1:00. Don't miss this exciting event.
