October Food Drive
During October, we'll hold a food drive to collect non-perishable food for the East Texas Food Bank. We are looking at a date in early November where the South Tyler Rotary members can volunteer at the Food Bank.
What items can be donated?

Non-perishable items such as: canned fruits and/or vegetables, evaporated milk and corn meal mix
-
Foods that are un-opened
-
Foods that are not in glass containers
-
Foods within expiration dates listed on the packaging
What are the most needed item?
-
Canned meats or fish (ham, Spam, pork, tuna and salmon)
-
Canned vegetables & fruits (all sizes & varieties)
-
Canned juices
-
Canned or packaged meats (mac and cheese, chili, stews, soups, pasta, peanut butter (plastic jars please), cereal-hot or cold)

Personal hygine products (toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, diapers (all sizes), toilet tissue)
Smith County Rotary Clubs Social October 5th - South Tyler, Tyler Sunrise, Downtown Tyler, Lindale, Troup and Bullard Rotary Clubs have collaborated together to provide a social event for all of our clubs! Join us Friday, October 5th from 5:30 to 7:30 at Love and War in Lindale for a night of fun and fellowship for our FIRST Smith County Rotary Club Social!
District Conference October 19-20th - Just a few weeks away and just down the road! Registration now open. Cost is $40.00 and is just up the road in Longview. For more details, visit the District 5830 website.
Women’s Self Defense Class October 25th- Taught by Officer Jasper from the Tyler Police Department. Thursday October 25th at First Christian Church Gym from 5:30-7:00. This event is open to the public. Please share with family, friends and co-workers.
